Over fill of air

I have just bought a S510 new from the CLA game fair. I have just tried to kill 6 rabbits within 15 yards and the pellets bounced off them !!
On checking the air pressure I found it to be at maximum 250 bar
In One part of the handbook it says max of 190 and in another 100 to 110
Can anyone let me know what it should be and I have just shot off the empty cylinder to just under 200
Hope someone can assist

190 is recommended max fill pressure, most people in the Know would only fill to 165/170 and shoot it down to about 100bar. Hope that helps. Rog

yes as Roger says most fill it to say 190 or 180. This is likely to be the start of your sweet spot. And probably go down to 90, which will be about where the sweet spot falls off - assuming your gun is unregulated. Filling beyond these settings is of little value in terms of consistency.
Beg, borrow or steal a chronograph and check your fps and make a record. You will then know the sweet spot for your own gun and can fill accordingly.I have just done this for my S400 superlight and I do not go beyond 180 to 190 and refill at 90 to 100.

Firing and measuring your guns specific characteristics was fascinating and not a chore.

A chrono is indeed needed as well as a swift kick up of the pants
Why would you carry on shooting at live quarry knowing they were bouncing off... your words speak volume.
I would get to know the ins and outs of the rifle before you go any further.

Nobody mentioned that 250 bar is close to deploying the self-destruct system in a S series cylinder. Not to mention maxing out the gauge.
Funny but I check the gauge before setting out on a shoot, not after trying to kill something.
