Power troubles

The reg butts up against the end of the brass pot,which has a hole in the side. I will take it out tonight and check spring and l will try and sort out a picture

Is there no standoff between the reg and the brass firing valve holder?

No ,the pot has holes drilled in side for the air flow. Will post picture later. At work at the moment

Nothing to do with the problem but, is it a .177 if so I'm sure someone would still buy it off you, depending on price, but as your having so much fun with it, you probably wouldn't want to sell it. The other side is by the time you have sorted it, you will have become a fully qualified A/A fitter. Rog

I have learned alot in the last week, but I don't think I know any where enough to be able to or indeed want to do it that much.
Prefer hitting stuff with hammers than making tiny adjustments
I like to be able to do sort things for myself....when I can

Stripped gun again and taken out pot and there is no spring . so i presume the valve is returned by air pressure?
The pot has 3 holes drilled around it for air flow and the end of the pot sits against the reg.

Well, have looked at pictures, and not sure what to suggest, and am thinking same as you, that valve rtns under pressure, don't know if Dave Welham is contactable these days but you could have a try. The other option is to return it to standard, which would cost about £50/60 of course as an A/A member you will get discount, have a word with Julian, he might be able to sort you out. You would need, S360 pot, S306 firing valve spring and if the cylinder is drilled either RN235 carbine or S335 classic cylinder, plus RN191 grub screw that locks the pot and the little nylon ball that goes under it E146 hope that helps. think you could be right on that Rog . interesting there should be a ball under the grub screw , my grub screw is just pointy
