I`d to strip, clean, unclog, & generally bugger around with my Dyson so many times, getting covered in sh!t almost every time, I grew to detest it!
I bought a Miele C3 (cylinder) listed now at 170-299 depending on model, which is sore Ray, I know you don`t wanna spend a fortune & I know for certain I paid around 120/30 for mine, but, & it`s a big `un, it is an absoloutely brilliant vacuum, whisper quite, variable power, brilliant reputation, ok, you need bags, but, no mess changing them unlike that ruddy Dyson-which my wife prefers BTW, But (hope you spot the recurring theme here mate) she reckons it needs a service & new brushes despite it being around 3 years old!
the Dyson wins on carpets cos of the brushes, but my entire lower level in my home is laminate, so it`s still the Miele for me.
my next purchase will be a Miele, upright, with brushes.
