Rebuilding MPR Precision - Need Help

I pulled my MPR apart to clean out the barrel with JB paste. Isn't there supposed to be an O Ring between the bottom of the barrel and the top of the receiver where the two meet together for the air transport? Mine didn't have one, and I just want to be sure it should be there. If so, this explains why I haven't been getting anywhere near as many shots as I should.

From what I can recall there should be an "O" ring in that position.

They can be "shot out" and I'm sure someone was producing a small turned washer that located the "O" ring and stopped it being shot out.
