I'm rich!

think I've a few full tins also, wonder if I can pay off my mortgage?

I spotted some old airrifle magazines so ended up caught in a loop, then spotted a cover that took my eye...

I recognised the shiney brass breach and the "Carter Classic" comment, I owned this rifle.
so a 'bin' later & I'm expecting a copy of Airgun World November 1996 to arrive in a few days

I've seen the 'Carter countryside' vids (have cd copies somewhere?) and knew of the article but never considered looking for it

^^the advert I saw (& bought from) in March 2008, was setup as left-handed loading-bolt then & in a beech ambi standard stock (still have the stock)
photo's from the bbs advert....

interestingly, the rifle I had was in '300 configuration with the 'barrel-band' mounted to the stock, the mag article shows '400 configuration with the 'barrel-band' located on the filler-valve in the '8-clamp' style...
was this the same rifle or were a few made?
I'll probably never know (unless theres details in the mag) as I sold the rifle sometime 2009 or 2010 & have no idea as to its location (if it still exists?)
the rifle I bought was an early serial-number and had the early 'hammer' that didn't have any 'du' bushes that run on the hammer-rail, also had the early trigger assembly that would not 'cock with the muzzle pointing down (AA altered this by adding a spring to the sear)
obviously I upgraded & fettled it & it was a good rifle, used on a few club competitions with good results (but this highlighted the standard stock's cheekpiece hight being too low!)
more waffle to come

Rich.
