Hello everyone.
I just bought my first Air Arms airgun, an S500 FAC , 22 cal. I must say I am totally thrilled at the fit, finish, design and accuracy. I am finding that every so often pellets are hitting the front of my moderator as they are leaving the barrel, where the moderator starts. I'm using a Donny FL moderator which is very well made. I tried taking the shroud off to check but couldn't remove it. I am able to shine a light down and can see that everything seems to be in proper alignment.
It did seem to group better after removing the o ring on the barrel bane. Scope and stock screws are all tight, I'm shooting a 14 gr pellet that usually shoots very well in most other guns I shoot. Scope is a Leupold target scope so I know the issue isn't there.
The barrel is also clean as well. Also, I size my pellets to 5.53 just to uniform them before going down my barrel.
Any thoughts ?
Jamie

Re: New to Air Arms
Probably a dumb question but how do you know it is hitting a baffle.
More mysterious is why only occasionally.
Even more unusual is why the one nearest the barrel crown hits, which should be the most concentric.
It’s not a .177 mod?

Re: New to Air Arms
Is that the carbine or the rifle version?
