Anybody else found that never cleaning your barrel means unbelievable accuracy?
I purchased my 1.77 s510 last march and i used a pull through when i first bought it and have never cleaned the barrel since, iv shot around 5000 to 6000 pellets through it and OMG its pellet on pellet with 8.4gn jsb exact.

I don’t believe in cleaning airgun barrels apart from
1. You just bought it new or
2. Its been oiled and stored over winter.

Either way it needs re-leading with 100 pellets then left alone

I only use Napier patches and nylon pull thru. Just twice.

There are no rules here - it depends on your barrel, your pellets and your expectations. If you are happy with your groups, there is no need to clean whatever. Judging by when the groups start to open out and talking only about my own guns (yours may be different) my Steyr needs a couple of VFG pellets every 100-ish shots (every time out really), my HFT500 and my S400 about every 200-250 and my HW100 never seems to need cleaning at all. None of them need more than 10 shots to 're-lead' and come right back on to POA. I have tried using a pull-through rather than VFG's, but the results are the same.

What I have often wondered, but never tried is , if I just kept on shooting the Steyr or AA guns, without cleaning them, would they come out the other side and start to group properly again? Anyone tried?

I run a couple of wads through mine at almost every outing before I actually start shooting at a target. The wads remove any loose material but leaves the barrel leaded. At 20m under 5mm groups from 190 to 100 bar every time.

As already stated though what works for one may not work all.
