hello, i recently bought an s400 old but great condition ! my concern is that it does not have a safety catch ! Is it poss.to fit a trigger with the safety catch ? thanks

Funny one this, most people spend money getting rid of the trigger with the safety button and fitting a Rowan, I've never believed a safety button in the trigger is a good idea. Rog

Yep relying on a safety not safe. Carrying a loaded cocked rifle is the only reason for a safety and that should never happen in my opinion.

I totally agree with all that have been said above.
Rowan Engineering do an excellent trigger that will transform your gun no end. They have a brilliant customer support and have had a long relationship with the AAOC

I can't see any reason why a later OEM trigger shouldn't fit and work correctly. The pics I've seen of the early S400s have a more set-back trigger, much like the Rowan replacement! Also possibly of interest and significance is that I would expect your trigger unit to be of the two sear type. Later units have three sears, although I have seen pics of such a unit which had the holes drilled for the three sears - so probably all the parts are interchangeable. It seems that the AA trigger with the safety fitted had to have the blade moved forward to allow the fitting of the safety, which (while effective) is no more sophisticated than a door bolt.

Perhaps someone who has fitted Rowan trigger will sell you the original to try out?

You need new bottom sear and middle sear with middle sear pin to convert from 2 to 3 sear operation, provided the unit is drilled for the middle sear.

Triggers should be interchangeable for 2 or 3 sear operation. Not all support anti rattle rear spring.

The anti-rattle spring, like the safety, is a bit of naff design. If you fit a Rowan trigger it has no spring. One advantage of the loose trigger is you know instantly if the gun is cocked or not.

There is a point in having a safety - only if the gun can't be un-cocked - as it's not always convenient to discharge the weapon. With magazines I always leave the first chamber empty, put the mag in and un-cock the gun. (I know you can put AA mags in without cocking but not so for some other makes.)
