so, a multi millionaire businessman fell ill & with an operation needed, a tranfusion was required rather pronto, having a rare bloodgroup, a nationwide search was codnucted & a donor from yorkshire was located & duly gave the required donation!
the donator was not dissapointed to recieve a bmw car & a large cash donation to his bank account by way of thanks!
a few months later said millionaire fell ill again & said yorkshireman was only to eager to help with a donation, this time he recieved (by way of thanks) a box of milk tray chocolates & nowt else!!
he complained to the supervising surgeon that he`d previously been handsomely rewarded for his donation but this time, well, a slap in the chops wouldn`t be far out, the surgeon replied
"Yeah, but now he has Yorkshire blood in his veins"!

your answer Ray actually raises my hackles, the answer actually sums up Scot`s too, we had a rep for being thrifty, carefull with money & never to simply `splash out` but the cheapest joke was/is to call us mean- like you say, there is a difference!

Apparently we got our Grand Canyon when a Scotsman or Yorkshireman dropped a penny down a gophers hole.
