Clean the barrel of a new gun

New to the forum............hi to everybody. Could I ask...is it necessary to clean the barrel of a new gun. I have just bought a new S510 Superlite. Should I be giving the barrel a pull through prior to using it.

Yes I would give it a jolly good scrubbing and then re lead.
