TX200 Differences between Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3

Can anyone provide a summary of how each version of the TX200 changed from the previous one?

I think Mk3 has chequering on the stock!

I & II much the same the same except for cosmetics, III sadly ruined stroke wise to meet the supposed "needs" of some significant overseas market where "more power" is king!

This is what I can work out, but I'm not certain:

Mk0: HW77
Mk1 shorter stroke, no anti bear trap, unshrouded barrel, no chequering, blocky looking stock
Mk2: shorter stroke, anti bear trap, chequering, still fairly blocky stock
Mk3: longer stroke, anti bear trap, shrouded barrel, fish scale chequering, more curvy stock
Then the HW77 got the curvy stock treatment as well...bringing some kind of symmetry to the development of these guns - inspired by each other, I guess!

What do you think? Have I got that about right?

Oh, and which ones do you prefer? In the link I posted previously, the shooter thought the Mk3 was more hold-sensitive than the shorter stroke versions.

I will add that all MarkI's had a checkered grip, but only the early ones had a non-checkered fore end. The later guns had the same checkering as the MarkII. The early MarkIII had the same stock as the MarkII with the hideous fish scale coming in around 2006.

MarkII from around 1993-4 until around 1998-9
MarkIII ever since the end of MarkII's
There were also a few MarkII guns in hunter carbine as well, but they had the shrouded barrel just like today's offering.
The internals had many small differences, for instance, you can't put a MarkII or MarkIII trigger unit into a MarkI without using the later end plug as well. The rivets stand proud on the later guns and the plug is relieved in areas to allow fitment. The front stock bracket is blued on the MarkI's as well. The little things don't really matter, but the very first MarkI's had a better trigger unit due to the blade adjustment screws having a different angle. I guess you get the point as this goes on and on.

Do you agree with others that the MkIII with longer stroke is not as good as the MkII?

At 12 ft. lbs. I would say the MarkIII is not as accurate as the short stroke guns. If you were able to boost the power to 14 to 15 ft. lbs. then the MarkIII will really wake up. I have shot many .5" groups at 55 yards with a MarkIII shooting 8.44 Exacts at 860 to 900 fps. I like the MarkI best, but all can be just as accurate if the stroke is the same. I've always known that the short stroke is more forgiving of a not so perfect technique, but with enough practice the differences are minimal. My easiest to shoot accurately is a MarkII with pretty much stock internals. On some days that choice may be different, so I guess it's just me.
