Hi, has anyone used Bisley Pest Control pellets on pigeons before? I have been using H&H Barracuda Hunters with good effect, except from the pellet passing straight through the birds head leaving them flapping for a bit, dissected and definitely was a good head shot. Anyway tried the Bisley pellets and they barely made it halfway through the birds head! Is this right? My rifle was just chronographed at 11.4 for so power is good, I am only assuming these are more for knock down and greater energy transfer, but could I still get heart/lung shots should I need to?
Kindest regards
Andrew.

Re: Bisley Pest Control
aye up Andrew, i've tried bisley pest control in a few different guns, but wasnt happy with the accuracy. to be honest i havent found any of these dedicated hunting pellets that are accurate enough, so i stick with domed, just find the most accurate in YOUR gun and the jobs a good un
i never bother with phrases like, ''stopping power'' ''energy transfer'' etc. because ''accuracy'' overrules them, and ''over penetration'' is not an issue.
a lot of birds will flap when shot in the head, just as chickens will flap, and often run around, even after having their heads chopped off, and you cant really get any more dead than that

Re: Bisley Pest Control
Seem ok at 25yds, not tried them further yet, 21gn is pretty heavy for sub 12 ft lb but the Btas regd S510 seems to get on ok with them, might give them another go this afternoon. Rog

I used to use 'Bisley Practice' through my .177/95k, good accuracy and decent stopping power...
