S200 firing pot settings

Mon Oct 05, 2015 6:54 pm

Hello,

I fitted a reg to my S200, in my excitement I didn't take note of how much of the firing pot sits outside the end plug  . I'd be grateful if somebody could tell me the dimension.

Thanks

Steve

Is the reg in or out?If it is in, your firing pot needs to be out of the rifle :)

Is it the Robert Lane reg?

I want to remove the regulator and refit the firing pot so I can re-run the shot strings.

Thanks

Ok ... use this manual so that we are both referring to the same parts. http://www.airrifleshop.co.uk/Manuals/AA_S200_03_08.pdf

1. With the Pott (sic) - No.33 off, screw in the Valve Cap No.34 till it bottoms in the End Plug No.38.
2. Unscrew it by 3 full turns.
3. Screw in the Pot No.33 all the way till it bottoms on to the Valve Cap No.34 (with the Latching Nut No.89 loose). Then, unscrew the Pot No.33 by 1/2 a turn and then lock off in that position using the Latching Nut No.89.

Now, these settings may not be exactly how it was from the factory but this setting works in terms of best shot count for UK legal sub-12 ft.lbs if the following steps are followed -

To set the power, start with the M3 x 12 No.8 Screw (venturi) all the way out. Then, set the max. power over a full shot string at 11.5 ft.lbs by loosening / tightening the Main Spring Adjustment Screw No.22 only. Then, bring the power down to 11.3 ft.lbs by winding in the M3 c 12 No.8 screw. This last step of winding the power down using the venturi screw is essential in order to get consistency.

If you get stuck, give me a ring. I will PM you my number if you need it :)

Just had mine apart to fit the Alraros regulator, before removal I measured the firing pot at 57 mm from block to tip.

Better picture now here I hope. And Raj... Que?
