Hi all
Just ran a chrono scan on my S410. I did a few 5 shot strings fron 150bar down to 130bar. It shows my gun to be running at 8.4f/lbThere was also 4 odd readings of over over 10f/lb
Does anybody know the best way to increase the power up to approx 11f/lb, as i only use the gun for hunting and would like it at a decent power to avoid just injuring quarry. I now it will drop rabbits at 8.6flb but I would feel better if it was running at approx 11flb
Thanks

Cleaned and polished it about 4 months ago. It will probable be a good place to start.
Thank BBF.

What does cleaning the hammer rail actually achieve?

Hi,
The hammer should slide on the rail like ice on polished Teflon. If it gets dirty then it tends to drag and power and consistency are lost. They are best run either dry (the hammer has self lubricating bearings) or with the merest hint if a film of very light oil a single molecule thick

Re: Under powered s410
Just been through all this with mine. If hammer rail doesn't do it, check the hammer spring and firing pot setting (measure screwed in to 57mm).
If you take the firing valve out, check the sealing face is not stepped.
I did all the above and it transformed the gun from 7ftlbs to 11+
Good luck.
Named rail on mine attracts grime very quickly indeed.

hammer rail would be my first try.
Re: Under powered s410
This a small seal S427 that can get sucked in and blown out. Happened to me. The rifle was about nine years old at the time.
Easy to fix. If this has happened then it would be time to replace all the seals and springs. Easy and cheap to do these days.
