What Happened to Old AAOC?

While AAOC was down there was a notice about moving servers or some such. When it came back it was a whole new site, having lost ALL the old info and users.

I have noted no explanation of what happened. Was there no backup of the old database? Can the info not be merged onto the new site? Has there been a change to a newer and incompatible version of the software?

I'm just curious as to what's what. Any edification will be appreciated.

there was a backup of the old forum but it is giving the guys problems trying too reinstate it
with a bit of luck this is a temp forum while work is on going.
