It looks really nice. I always favoured the Thumb hole stock over all the others. I may be old fashioned but I even prefer it to the Ultimate sporter. It's about time they did that in traditional walnut stock, and not plywood.

Hi guys no more coats of Trueoil needed so put rifle back together just wating on birch wood casey stock wax to arrive and that will slightly dull the gloss shine has well has give it a coat of pretection just have to wait 7 days for full dry but here are some images of finished rifle.


What do you think guys turned out quite nice the odd minor thing to address but will do that later but for now I'm quite happy how it turned out. Thankyou for all your comments and support guys.

I have the same trouble with a shine on mine (danish oil) i got carried away

Yes it is far too glossy at the moment just waiting on my birch wood casey wax finisher but have to wait 7 days for this to dry completely then I'm going to give it a really light wet and dry sand and wax to get that factory stock finish that's what it should look like in 7 days time guys you will have to check back then. But thanks for your replys its been a new experience anyway which I really enjoyed. You cannot beat testing yourself now and again trying something new which you have never done before. The whole rifle has turned out better than expected I'm delighted in the prefinish I say that has I am going to tone the stock down too a satin gloss finish hopefully that's if I pull it off.

I would love to come to the meet this year but got know way of getting there I'm afraid unless anyone is going from hull who has got room for one more I will attend but other than that I will not be able to come has I don't have transport to get there. So if anyone has room for one more who is leaving from hull please pm me I have also pm Keith to see if he is going and if he has any room for one more, that's if he is going himself, so will have to wait and see fingered crossed thx.
