Correct, Bosun. I have yet to see a beech stock that has just been oiled. I give beech stocks a good wipe over with a rag +Ballistol. It seems to darken the shade slightly and keep it good looking. How the Ballistol gets through the lacquer, I dont know but it seems to do some good.

And MPR Poplar Stocks have a 0.5mm thick acrylic finish that chips off if you whack it on a bench vice. Impossible to repair invisibly. Pings off when you remove the barrel band too. :(
