My .22 S400 is the least pellet fussy barrel I have ever had. I have had two .177 S400's that I had to find the right pellet for, also many other guns BSA, Brocock, Daystate, HW al needed the right pellet's but this .22 of mine is very pellet friendly.

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
My S410 likes AAs and JSBs. No real difference with 5.51 vs 5.52. On another forum a friend of mine has done some extensive PCP testing and pellet weight. It was a complicated thread, but, AAS410s (and I assume this would be true for S510s) prefer and are more efficient with pellets of around 16g. For some reason they like a medium-heavy pellet. This was not true for all PCPs he tested.
If these pellets group really well, then you'd be hard pressed to find a better pellet.

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
I collected the gun this morning and with it came a tin of Air Arms 5.52, 16gr so i will try these first when i go to the range on Wednesday, i have on order some JSB Exact Jumbo RS Diabolo 5.52, 13.43gr and some JSB Match Diabolo - Exact Jumbo Diabolo 5.52, 15.89gr, so hopefully it will find one it likes out of that lot.
Thanks for all your replies guys

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
I have a S510 FAC .22. I have used the JSB Match Diabolo - Exact Jumbo Diabolo 5.51 & 5.52 and I can say they have not worked for me. My grouping at 50m was three inches at best. My old S410 .177 can manage less than a inch groupings at that distance.
The advice I have been given was to use only the Air Arms Diabolo Field. I don't know whether that is the 5.51 or the 5.52. When I get the rifle back I will test with both.

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
Please note that the head sizes printed on pellet tins are completely and utterly erroneous, there is absolutely no correlation to the actual spread of sizes in the tin, neither any correlation to e.g. 5.52 being generally of a larger size than e.g. 5.50!. This is true for both .177 & .22 pellets (and I imagine other calibers also).
When you find a tin that you are happy with note the batch / die reference (label on bottom of tin) for future reference & purchases.

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
Just got back from doing a bit pellet testing with my s510 .22 and have to say I am a great fan of aadf 16s but thought I would give H&N Weihrauch F&T Special a go these state on tin 14.66gr and 5.51 on rear of tin, have to say I have already ordered another 5 tins as I was very impressed with the results. Buy a tin and see what you think, you might be. As surprised as I was

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
i believe the Weighrachhhhhch pellets are made by H&N, so maybe look at their products, maybe cheaper in that guise.
Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question
Yes as I said H&N Weihrauch F&T Special .22 14.66gn 5.51 £3.99 for 200 Uttings, I doubt you will find them cheaper

Yes I could try any number of other pellets but I based my purchasing decision on the advice of respected users, for example in the videos www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ2Pq8wAYYM with Mat Dubber using the JSB 15.89s and here in another USA comparision www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lvg2SyF3IY.
I am still waiting for my rifle to be returned from Air Arms to see if in fact it can shoot AA 16gns well enough for me to hunt with it. Lets hope so.
