If you off a horse it's a great deal of work to dig the hole to bury it. It's a much better idea to sell the horse or even give it away. It then becomes someone else's problem. Besides you no longer have to store hay for the winter.

I agree it's better to flog a dead horse,at least that's how I thought the saying went.
