.177 all the way as a general hunting calibre the .22 boys will be jumping up and down now .177 is far more forgiving than .22

if its solely for rats, if it was me I would opt for the .22 (where is pouge he`ll be off on one now )

i doubt it, he only goes off on one when some numpty claims that .177 isnt up to the job
i asked a mates girlfriend (pathologist with experience of gunshot wounds) which calibre would be the most lethal
