When you look through the naughty hole does the O ring protrude into it the same amount as the others?
Are you going to look or not?

Spending £65 on a third party mag is a tad expensive when you could probably fettle the AA one for free.
The O ring gives friction without changing the dimensions of the skirt. I wonder how this one works.
You can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.....!
Yes I had this problem with one of my US .22 mags, it was also sticky, stripped, cleaned and removed a few burrs here and there and hey presto, working mag.

Guess some folks just cant and won’t take things to bits but, maybe upon reflection that’s a good thing?

Bad thing for our engineering heritage.

I've been taking things to bits for nearly 60 years. How things work is fascinating and rewarding.

I even did a degree in Mech Eng but unfortunately it was all maths and no taking things to bits!

If I am willing to pay for a double magazine don't you think I could pay my gun shop to sort it?

O-rings are prone to hardening and damage and need looking after but now I don't need to bother, at least with my magazine. You can lead me but I refuse to drink!

That's a shame. A community forum like ours likes to help people and diagnose problems, not only for the Original Poster but for anyone else reading with similar problems.
For anyone else with this problem we are pretty sure, like The Burpster said, it just needs taking apart and fettling. File off enough metal and burrs from the groove so the O-ring has a loose hold on the pellets in each hole and reassemble. A Nitrile O-Ring will last for many years even in oil.
A gun in this price bracket will always need some fettling and when some parts are bought in from outside by AA there is more likelihood they may not perform 100% from new.

I know of two AA Ultimates with the same problem. Air Arms can't be bothered to reply to my enquiries probably because they know that people like yourselves just love pratting about with air rifles.

If I buy an air rifle I expect it to perform, especially as I only bought it in June of this year!! The internet is full of Air Arms faults and problems, but hopefully I've solved mine with a double magazine and no magazine O-rings. Result!

I understand what you mean about our engineering heritage. My father was an engineer. He began as a blacksmith, made parts for submarine silencers, worked in the aerospace industry, British Timken, and ended up as a toolroom turner. I used to race push bikes and the things my father made for the bike, that nobody else had thought, of was amazing. He also owned several cars and I well remember watching dials and telling him, charge / discharge etc. Happy days.

It's the guys who prattle about are the ones who usually sort out the problems for the guys who can't or don't bother too prattle about.

Airarms are not the fastest too respond too emails but a phone call gets answered every time.
