Change of Action

Tue Sep 22, 2020 2:22 pm

Hi Julian,
I'm getting the odd problem with the bolt action on my MPR. So is it feasible to change just the action (not the barrel) to a side lever variant such as the S500 or HFT500?

Cheers,
Steve C.

i occasionally get a blast of air coming backwards. I'm assuming that the bolt didn't fully lock down although I stay convinced that it was,and I am thinking that the side lever doesn't allow this.

Could be the breech seal, and if the bolts not locking down could be o-ring on the bolt, the side lever can do the same thing, as there is a small o-ring used to lock the side lever down. A/A call it a detent buffer they have been known to split, then You wind up with a sloppy lever. So possibly no better off. Rog

Hi Raj,
I'm ok really, in these uncertain times. Just older (no wiser!) and miss the old AAOC weekends, even the one at Shepreth where my brass monkeys got frozen. :o

I trust that you and yours are all good.

Steve.
