Brilliant stuff! It just goes to show the young talent is out there among those that show the dedication. A big home-coming welcome planned no doubt!

The third event was what is known as a Tag Team. Basically 3 fighters from each team line up on either side of the ring. After a coin toss, one team puts their best fighter in. The other team puts in a matched opponent and the sparring begins. The first one to score a point as below stays in the ring -

a) 1 point awarded for any hand technique to any target area.
b) 2 points awarded for foot technique to mid-section area.
c) 3 points awarded for foot technique to high-section area.

The non scoring opponent leaves the ring and is replaced within 30 seconds by another member of their Tag Team. This carries on for a length of time after which the team with the max. score wins.
Team GB came third (so a Bronze medal for all 3 fighters) in this event so they still medalled. From what I hear, Anjali punched way above her weight and scored very well as all the other opponents were ladies i.e. over 18 yrs. My wife had to sign to say she didn't mind my 15 year old entering. So final tally for our family is 3 medals - 2 x Gold and 1 Bronze. :) The 2 Gold medals she won were in completely individual disciplines. I am taking time off work to go fetch them from the airport tomorrow 8-)

Thank you so much for all your support and comments guys - I will show them to my girl. :D

What a result Raj. It makes me proud just knowing you guys, so I can't imagine how good you are all feeling. Are we looking at the Olympics?
Well done Anjali it must be a fantastic feeling and a huge sense of achievemnt knowing all of the hard work and dedication that you have put into your training is paying off. Train hard, fight easy. Best wishes, the Cooper family.
