You're lucky, here in Lincolnshire I sent mine in 3 weeks ago and they still haven't cashed the cheque let alone them getting it back to me
We were warned in the reminder it would likely take 12 weeks and i've heard in some cases its taking longer! Its that bad that a local rfd told me he's nearly filled up his gun room with people "lodging" their guns as the certs have expired well before the renewals are coming out

I think you're privileged in still having an FEO,Cheshire Police now use their armed response officers to carry out home visits.
Having said that I've nothing but praise for their speed and efficiency in dealing with my renewal last year.
