I have just seen the 1st swallow of the year this afternoon while out round the fields.
Is there any where you are yet.

Yep ... They arrived early on in the week. Chiffchaff warblers have been calling for about 10 days now .........Wood peckers drumming ....... sky larks males displaying high up in the ai ......... blue tits have started sorting out the nest box ...... jackdaws have been successfully dissuaded from stuffing my chimney like they did last year by me fitting a cowl on the stack.. Summer is here indeed !!!

Re: Summer is here
Jo and I went to Lilstock, walked along the beach and then sat on the clifftop listening to skylarks (amongst others).
It was hot, sunny and with hardly a breath of wind. The sea was like a millpond. Now 5 hours later the temperature has dropped like a stone, grey skies and a gusty wind.
Still, its been a lovely weekend!
