Hello all, ran my first 10k (6.2 miles) race yesterday and loved it,i took my mates place at the last minute becouse he has a cold, got his name changed 10 minutes before the start so it showed me on the results web page, there was 839 runners and i came 506 with a time of 55 mins, the roads were closed and folks were cheering us all on and i got a medal as i passed through the finish line, not bad for me as i started running 4 months ago just for a bit of fitness

Good for you Roadrunner, a great effort, you should be proud and good to see an AAOC member taking care of fitness and enjoying the process.
I fancy that a marathon is in the sights?

Bravo!

I used to do a fun run of 10k every year. There were so many left and right turns as well as hills and slopes. It was just the right size to make it enjoyable to all. Dont get me wrong its still a decent achievement...well done 8-)
