So here we are, after months of debate and spin, much of it designed to do nothing more than confuse, we sit here waiting to cast our votes tomorrow on what may turn out to be the single most important issue that we will ever have to consider in our lifetime. Lets be honest, when we vote at a General election we vote for the biggest liar - tomorrow we will be voting to improve OUR once great nation. Most of us will already have decided which way we will cast our vote.
I personally sincerely hope that tomorrow will herald our own Day of Independence from what has become an over-dominating Europe.
Independence Day - 23rd June 2016
Re: Independence Day - 23rd June 2016
My sentiments exactly!
We started with a common market, a trade agreement that somehow turned into a full membership of a United States of Germany. Why did we fall for it? Because we believed the political leaders and got suckered in. Then we got the excuses that Europe was all powerful and there was nothing we could do. Political numpties had given up our powers to Brussels, whoops! I meant Germany which was intent on achieving what they couldn't do in 2 world wars, England under a German thumb. Note I did not say "Nazi".
Lets be honest, the French and Germans don't really like us, "the island nation" because of our "little Englander" attitude but that attitude is what differentiates us from the rest of Europe, a pride in what we are and what we have achieved as a nation, the biggest maritime power, powerhouse of the industrial revolution.
I really want out, that's my vote. Stuff Germany , Brussels, France or any other member of the EU. I want Great Britain back as a separate entity, if Scotland or Wales want to go their own way then fine, sod off and pay for it yourselves. Lets build another British Empire based on trade and honesty, far better than anything the EU and its twisted, lying bureacrats can offer.

Re: Independence Day - 23rd June 2016
Interesting times ahead!
NI and Scotland wanting full independence from England so they can remain in the EU. Border controls being put in place? Nicola Sturgeon is already saying another referendum is likely.
Financial uncertainty for a while maybe?
Was the result, the "out" vote, a reaction by ordinary people to feeling let down by the EU and our own Government?

So we reclaim what is ours (when we eventually leave the EU)
I wonder if scotland and northern island do become independent and part of europe, if the scots and irish will be able to work in england without some form of visa? Or will English people be able to work in scotland and northern island.
Also what will happen to their currency, will it be changed to euros.
Anybody got any idea?
Kevin

The demographics are crystal clear, be it income, education, class etc. no surprises one imagines, mirror image of UK airgun ownership pretty much, one only hopes that those who cast that way thought of their children and their chidrens children... I rather doubt it.
I shall not be posting again on this thread so the trolls may play at will.
