Should we delete the accounts of the members that have not made any posts. For a forum to work it needs members to post. Why have members getting full access to the forum without giving anything.
Your thoughts please

It depends what you mean by non posters. Do you mean people that have never posted or people like me who only post now and again. I don`t post much for a number of reasons the main one being any questions that are asked are answered by people with more knowledge on the subject than me.

if you want to tidy up the members list then maybe its the people who only visit once when they join who should be trimmed out, some (could be many) might only be here for a read and to gather some info from others who are far better informed/knowledgable

I post stuff occasionally but usually if I'm not sure of how to do something. I'm just not one of those people that continually join into other threads.
Is that a bad thing? Should i contribute more? However it might bore the t8ts off everyone

Is there a need to delete users? running out of space? running slow?
If you need to, only delete users with low or zero post count that have been inactive for a long time.
We have ~1500 members yet only a handful post regularly, where do you draw the line?

I would say that non posters may have something to offer in the future. Maybe a time limit of 90 days since last visit to forum, then send a reminder email prior to deletion.

interesting, 7 votes so far but only 6 people have posted anything, does this mean the missing voter should get booted out?

As others have said What do you class as non posters. How long do you give somebody before they are classed as a non poster. I think most of us go through a dry spell regarding posting on here. Sometimes a lot of the posts although interesting dont leave the opperunity for me to reply as i feel i am not competent enough or the post has already been answered. I dont feel right posting "agree with the above or agree with just whats been said"
i think if it were possible - delete the people who just pop in to sell something. Sometimes their 1st post is something for sale?. I think if we could check most if the non posters would be in theabove category.

As above. I am a moderator on another forum and its a minimum 40 posts to qualify for selling, even then we root out the 'one word' posts and block their advert. I don't think quiet members do any harm but scammers do a lot of damage especially if the product goes out of production which drives up the price if it was any good.
