So, its upon us again!
I dont really celebrate xmas, I dont eat a big dinner on the 25th nor am I in a position to lavish gifts on my loved ones. I've made it clear that I dont want/need owt from anyone, the same favour shall be returned
I nearly always spend most of the day on my own, the kids usually go to the bitches house for their dinner and my ma heads South to my brothers place in Wakefield.
Im used to this by now and TBH it aint so bad! My daughter is at a loose end this 25th so I've promised her egg n chips as long as she cooks it
Howay then.........what you lot got planned?
Xmas
Re: Xmas
Well as long as you're happy Gordon it should'nt be different to any other day. Now my Daughter is Grown up Xmas just isn't the same anymore mate. Lets face it its for the Bairns really!!
Mrs G keeps asking me what i want but in truth theres nowt i want. And i can't see the point of buying just for the sake of buying and because its xmas. I hate the commercialism that goes with it too.
Having said that though i do enjoy the day and i always cook the xmas lunch and my daughter will be coming over to join us. We always make sure our Permission holders get their gifts and i enjoy putting my feet up and chilling out after lunch. We'll be putting a little clay shoot on for our farmers between xmas and new year and i've got a boxing day clay shoot at my local club which i always enjoy.
ATB,
Pat

Christmas Eve - Midnight mass at our village church. Once again, it will be my wife and I (2 Hindus ... technically speaking), the church warden who needs to lock up after us and the vicar
Christmas morning - prezzies for kids, down to the skating rink at Coventry, meet friends at the pub, turkey and trimmings
Long walk in the afternoon.

Me?... My better half's had the bright idea that we can can do Christmas in our new dining room this year despite the fact that until a fortnight ago it was just a breeze block shell As a result I've been given the challenge of making it habitable for 12 of us by Christmas. Luckily the plasterers were already booked, the task I have been allocated is to wire up the electrics (done), plumb in a toilet and hand basin in the adjacent cloakroom (done), fit 3 radiators and associated pipe work (1/2 done), three door frames and hang doors in them (2 out of 3 isn't bad), fit 4 window sills (2 done), heated towel rail to go in aforementioned cloakroom (well I've bought it) and then worst of all tidy up after myself! Apparently it won't take long, you have to admire their optimism don't you

a;)
Great car - I loved mine - a tad underpowered with 1200cc engine but great fuel consumption. Had it 6 or 7 years which is unusual for me but it was so reliable and comfy.
Well I will be working Christmas eve as most of you know. The long shift and sick of sherry and mince pie by the end of it. Rudolf can have my share, I'll have the carrots.
Don't believe a word Pat says by the way about not wanting nowt. What a load of you know whats. He won't even lend me the works van cos it has a tracker on it!
