Our pen itself is pretty much fox / lion / tiger proof.
But we lost all 4 of our bantams last week ..... we let them free range in the garden and lock them up every night but we got back after sun set which isnt too late at all these days ... too late for the hens

How much land have you got Captain? Are there any neighbouring properties, proximity to roads etc. Rimfire if your licensing authority has placed a condition on your cert for Fox. Either 22lr up to 50 yards, 17hmr up to 100-120 max or 22WMR again same as HMR. Many licensing forces don't accept Rimfire for Fox. Ridiculous IMO but there you have it. A 12 g with 42 grams of no1's is my prefered load for shooting Foxes if using a Shotgun. Stone dead everytime up to 35 yards. Never let me down. Or if you can't use a Rimfire or Shotgun a trap and then humane dispatch within the trap. A 410 preferably moderated is a great tool for this. Although a 410 should not be used on Fox in the open. C/F the best option in an ideal situation of course. If you can bait the Fox into open countryside (dead rabbit tethered)and with with a suitable backstop and preferably an electronic call, it will work. Providing he's not lamp shy and never been shot at you'll nail the bugger but sometimes they can and do outwit you to the point of sheer frustration. I've sat out many times at stupid o clock in the morning in the hope of nailing a troublesome Charlie and its not a pleasant pass time believe me even when sat in a vehicle
Hopefully a few options there and if you aint got FAC or SGC you may know someone that has who is willing to do the job for you. Good luck!!!
