Well its that time of year again, seems to come around quicker every year

. Anyway we always put quite a bit of effort into the gifts our landowners receive. Our main permission holders receive a large (and i mean large!!) hamper each. One for the Farmer, his wife and his daughter and son in law. These include some quality products but the type of stuff that is really useable at this time of year. For example Selections of cheeses, biscuits, crackers, preserves, chocolates, Hams etc and a bottle of red and white wines respectively. These hampers are profesionally put together and beautifully presented and we also include a quality bottle of single malt each as well. Our other landowners each receive a bottle of Malt, my home made Sloe Gin, a bottle of wine and a brace of Pheasants each. These gifts are always welcomed and usually met with "theres no need you know" well we think theres every need because we appreciate being able to go shooting right through the year and enjoy the freedom of being able to enjoy our hobby to the full in some beautiful surroundings, as i'm sure everyone else will feel the same about their own permissions/permission.
So guys this is what we do . What do some of the AAOC members do for their landowners at this time of year. Be interesting to hear
ATB,
Pat

Thanks for arranging all that Pat, thanks again mate, really appreciated. The hampers are a sight to behold.
They fully deserve them imo opinion given their great kindnesses over the years - the caravan for free being just one thing. So good to have a hideaway from the howling gales and rain. I couldn't get over that summers day she drove into the field with the tractor and plough to turn the stubble and drove out again. I ran after her and she said she didn't want to spoil our afternoon!!!! I said it's your farm - we are not here to slow down your tight schedule! Salt of the Earth all the family.
But matey you forgot my pals!!!! Dan and Jess who bound over to greet us every time - cupboard love

I'll get some treats for them

One of my landowners keeps giving me money, he's grateful for the lack of bunnies. The other one has odd jobs fixed by me which saves them a packet.

But, you have to shoot the dinner. Difficult if you're having sausage and mash.

We accept (graciously) joints of wild boar and venison together with kind donations of fine wines, Cognac and fresh truffles but, each season put on a very good luncheon for the shoot that utilises part of our properties.
I do think that ideally it should be reciprocal.

Im as skint as it gets but I'll make sure our two main perm owners get a bottle of good single malt each. It's an investment!

Some interesting replies here. Keep them coming. At this time of year its a great way of showing appreciation to our landowners even though we essentially are providing a free service if you like but as we all know permissions are not easy to come by.

Pat
