6'' of mud didnt stop the skills of hudson, salmons, greenhoff and co from entertaining the fans 8-) 8-) 8-)
cant see todays overpaid so called superstars coping with pitches like that, or even bothering to give it a go :lol:
alan hudson's midfield artistry didnt seem to mind what condition the pitch was in, and stoke fans used to sing ''alan hudson walks on water'' :lol:
i never saw him actually walk on water, but i saw him glide over 6'' of mud often enough 8-)

They dont possess the specialised muscle/fitness these days. They'd pull a hamstring or tweak a groin within minutes.
I miss those days of churned up pitches at xmas time. :lol: :lol: :lol:
