during the Normandy beach landings, all officers had removed their insignias as they already knew they were a prize target for machine gunners & snipers yet very few (hardly any actually) survived the initial landings??
when they could finally interrogate German gunners they asked them about this, Gerry told them they`d been warned to look for facial hair & tight fitting trousers, only officers were allowed facial hair of any kind & jim & joe cannon fodder were issued non descript baggy pants, only officers could afford to have their trousers tailored! Ha Ha sir silver spoon, your snobbery & unwarranted positions got you toasted!

Hitlers first love was a Jewish girl. Lacking courage, he never spoke to her.

Them Officers being English,Irish,Scottish and Welsh and not forgetting the Americans,Canadians,Australians,New Zealanders etc. Still heroes even if they had money or not... They got off them boats ready to do battle side by side and prepared to die as many did to rid Europe of a sick and twisted clown ! God bless them all.

Churchill almost didn't make it into military school.
