A great Sunday afternoon ... with our Poguemahone.

Sun Jul 19, 2015 10:43 pm

So chaps ... As planned, we rocked up to the Potteries today and having made the required contact beforehand, I got to meet the legend, Poguemahone 8-) 8-) 8-)
Unfortunately, he couldn't join us for a meal at his local, The Rifleman. However, he did call the landlady and kindly reserved a nice table for Geetha & me, my daughter and her boyfriend. We got spoilt by Alex, the landlady who couldnt stop talking about what a lovely chap Steve was. And she wasnt kidding ... as we found out when we finally got to see him. The four of us were made very welcome indeed aboard his good ship, Charybdis. The weather was perfect for a lazy cup of tea and doughnuts and we whiled a memorable 1/2 hour chatting, joking and putting the world to rights. The long boat is moored up at a lovely location not far from the famous Harecastle tunnel and he is certainly making great progress with the refurbishing of his floating home. So that is 2 men and 2 boats off the AAOC for me :)
Thanks for having us, Steve and look forward to another occasion at a Meet or when you come round ours.
Here is a picture to mark the meeting ! :D

yes ray, he was a bit unsteady after spending 4 hours in the rifleman
alex text me to say he was still singing ''eye of the tiger'' on the karaoke, standing on the table, 2 hours after the karaoke man had packed his stuff up and gone
