Has anybody else on here had the dubious pleasure of contracting, hosting and hopefully curing this nasty little illness?.
The ticks involved here were barely 2mm in diameter and one imagines are often not noticed at all but, after a few weeks the infection most certainly makes itself felt.
Happily the lab diagnosis was swift and the antibiotics prescribed.
Picked them up whilst repairing a whole in the boundary fence that was letting deer, wild pigs and genet into the orchard, no doubt a super tick buffet location.

I think Duncan (Rogers1) had it quite recently. If your into your hunting and getting yourself stashed in hedges and all manner of flora, you just got to take the chance of getting hosted really. I hate ticks with a passion!!

I hope you get better soon as that sounds quite nasty.

having worked on sheep farms the tick thing is all ways in my mind.

Edna had them once .... they looked like remoras on a basking shark.

Ha ha ha you guys are the best, actually the "stand in doctor" is a foxy little piece, ahem.
I like the boots Ttree, thank you, HIH has a pair strictly reserved for bedroom play, suffice to say they don't often see the light of night!
Thank you Zippy, per usual a comprehensive and well researched input, not that it gives me any more comfort! I shall trust in the medicines of France and if they fail then BBF can raffle off the legacy arsenal for a good cause

Always check yourself for ticks after a shooting session.

Not many carry the disease but you can't tell

Check the groin and waist area as this is usually the point of access.

It can take a while for them to get a grip.

It is just the unluck of the draw.
