Re: Donations
Yes I would pay, wouldn't that involve more administration cost also ?,who would be responsible for doing this work,it can also lead to other issues, like where's the money, etc etc, how would you pay,

Re: Donations
What about a monthly prize draw open to anyone who has donated over say 3 pounds in the month, and a small percentage used for the prize
Re: Donations
The prize could be badges
Some folk would pay £100 / month to get an AAOC badge

Ahem, spose that`s aimed at me Mr R, don`t worry bout me, BBF has over ruled Ebo, I get a 1000 views badge for See It when it hits the magic No. I`d donate to the forum, what I could, when I can, a regular bank payment would be a no no for the boss, I`d just slip mine under the radar somehow!

wastrel wrote:simply have a`donate` function on the site, a footy site I use has one, simply click on the paypal/visa icon, follow instructions, it`s quite simple really, that`s how I`d like to do it, then I could donate say a tenner every now & then when I can afford to do so.
+1
Re: Donations
I'm not against donating to a site but there are things to consider.
Will it lead to a "two tier" membership.
How would Admin and Mods treat a "subscriber" compared to a non-subcriber.
How would a subscriber view their membership compared to a non -subscriber.
How much would have to be raised to fund the site.
I note that Airgun Forum.co.uk have a monthly target of £125 (£1500 per year) I would be surprised if it was a tenth of that to run it. Do they publish any form of accounts ?
Most importantly Julian has said that so far he is happy to fund the AAOC.

Re: Donations
rather than asking for donations...what if the cash raised at the aaoc yearly get together was donated too the upkeep off the forum rather than too a charity
and for those who would like too attend but cant make it they could if they want too could still make a contribution
