Forums have changed I think,
More people have just got used too taking what they need with no need too respond or say thanks.

They may also post the same question on multiple forums first too respond to they're problem on which ever forum may get the thanks

I’m on the iPhone forum. You get points for solving problems but the OPs have to press the little button. Most either scuttle away so you don’t know if you fixed it, or worse they mark their own reply helpful so the default view hides your genius remedy. Mixture of bad manners and stupidity which is not surprising when you see the problem they had in the first place.
