Hmmmm the use of "floppy" and "hot rod" in the same sentence doesn't seem quite right?

I still have my old records stored away, I'm keeping them because they are from my cherished childhood memories in the days of care free times when one one was aloud to be free, free from worry and responsibility and when you had you innocence.

I do think records have a warmer sound with more mid-range sounding feel to them, the pops and cracks on old records remind you of that time of feeling more human before computers ruled the world, digital era, which has lost all old technology charms.

Don't get me! wrong though i do like my ipod, but do's the ipod have the same memories of been 12,years old and buying you record with you pocket money as a child,,, wile your Dear mum makes Sunday lunch for you... great memories.

As a child I had save my pocket money and go to the record shop and maybe listing to the record before buying it... :D
There was none of this down-loading from your arm chair, you had to save the money and walk to the record shop and talk to real people, these times are long gone...

Will children today look back at in the same fond memories with Ipods, computers... Humm.
I may dig out my old records and play them... and re-enter my loved childhood.... :D

Do's anyone remember the different colors of records, reds and green and picture discs, I can imagine these been very collectible and worth money now!.

Great post... Steve.
Regards Mick... :D

Yes some old vinyl is worth something and some of those coloured discs were often limited additions. For example I believe Curved Air Conditioning by Curved Air with the disc in printed form as per the album cover is worth a bob or two. I had one and gave it away!

Music was harder to get hold of years ago - by that I mean we had less money and had to save up for it. That made you appreciate it more when you finally got your hands on the vinyl.

A well looked after record should not be scratchy Zippy. Clearly you like me took scant care of them or played them with a sapphire stylus long after the life of the needle was past. Diamond were better of course but more expensive.

Aye but I remember when they were needles Zippy for the old 78's and 16's on the wind up gramophones with the big horn speakers. You see unlike you younger ones born into your Richie rich never had it so good era I was born when rationing was still on certain goods! ;)
