But you all shot the girly 12g, what about the man's 20g?

20 bore a mans gun!!! You're having a laugh aint you!!! 20 bore a youths gun or a Ladies gun. Great for perhaps walked up Game,expensive if you're shooting clays and if you go over an ounce load they can kick!! Now a 12 that is a Northern Mans Gun!! but a 20, nah southern Nancies gun mate Seriously though 20 is a lovely calibre but as one lad found out to his expense recently he would have been better off buying a 12. Basically the guy bought a 20 bore Silver Pigeon for his Daughter in law just to learn with and starting on the clays. Costs her more for the cartridges and he now realises as a few people have told him he would have been better off getting a 12 to start with and using 21gr cartridges and then working up to 28grms. She is now looking at px the 20 and is now wanting a 12.
Like i say though 20 is a nice calibre and a lovely easy gun to carry on a walked up shoot.

They are the Eley Olympic blues mate. I have used them for a while but i'm more impressed with these new First Selects. Many happy returns by the way!!!!

The 12g is a bit heavy for some people Pat, even for some blokes and especially if they are out and about all day like we are over miles of permission. Not that it bothers us. Hence a lighter option for some I guess but to my mind a 12g sbs would fit the bill on weight.

Yes i agree Steve. As i have said thats where a 20 is great. Walked up day etc. However remember that many manufactures are now offering "light" 12 bore versions of popular models. Browning 525 as an example so lighter "framed" shooters, some gents included in that terminology can or could use a 12 as opposed to a 20. No doubt about 12;s are popular for a reason and that is because they are more versatile but again not knocking the 20 bore

I would not have wanted to use that French thing that Bob had in a while back - the very light overunder in 12g - Verney Carron.

I find that most 20g don't fit me very well but as you know I am 6ft 4in.
