TX 200 HC Plenum Insert.

Just wondered who prefers to use this than a silencer ..

The way springers work means they don't really need a silencer anyway. There is usually little air expelled after the pellet so they tend to be fairly quiet anyway.

PCP's however, being less efficient, tend to expel quite a bit of air after the pellet and it's this that causes the problem.

No doubt the theory is completely correct however, my HC is a noisy beast and I purchased two silencers for it, mattys something (long black delrin) and a UK Neil (short stubby aluminium). Both drastically reduce the muzzle noise but, sadly the thread in the muzzle of my HC is far from square so they clip badly.

Would only add that the plenum insert itself makes a surprisingly big difference (try it and you will see or rather hear) but, not as quiet as a good silencer. A silencer of course makes the gun longer which rather defeats the objective of the HC vs the more efficient and indeed much quieter standard TX.
