Technically yes.
In practice it will play up in winter and summer. CO2 expands more than air when it gets warm and it shrinks more than air when it gets cold. This will play havoc with your tank pressure and give you POI inconsistency.

The rule is not to use any gas and to use normal air.

I could be 'free' access to pressurised gas. ;) Nitrogen is a better option (from a Charles's Law perspective) if you have the choice. It wont corrode the tank and seals as it is pretty neutral in terms of reacting with things.

careful Raj, that reply does not comply with the "air, and only air" brigade, they all seem to forget that air is 80% nitrogen to begin with

Using anything other than air could invalidate a warranty. We also wouldnt want to send out the wrong message that other gasses are fine to use.
