evening folks ,several weeks ago i put a post up about above rifle and the noise it made compared to my other air arms .....
this morning i finally plucked up the balls to dismantle a pcp for the first time {have done various springers before} got it stripped by following a guy on youtube and when i removed the trigger mechanism i found that who ever owned the rifle before me had thought it a good idea to put an extra washer between the hammer and the spring that fires the riffle i've cleaned all the components and rebuilt the rifle added a well known german made silencer and as if by magic gun is remarkably less noisier than it was ,can anyone tell me why the would of put the washer there is it to try and boost the power up by making the valve stay open a split second longer

glad you got it sorted mate, and no harm done to the gun
airarms guns are fine exactly as they leave the factory, although theres a few very minor improvements shooters may do.
adding a washer to the hammer isnt one of them
