Silencers?Moderators

Sun Apr 12, 2015 5:07 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm interested to know what you think about the relative merits of AA silencers compared to Weihrauch. I'm looking for one for my S400 MPR FT (14mm barrel)

I know I need a 1/2" UNF adaptor (from Rowan) if you suggest the Weihrach one.

Cheers

My fathers just bought a Hugget Belita for his MPR which should arrive next week, so will let you know what that's like when he's using it.

as ray has said pretty much the same..so I would opt for the aa one and then you don't have too worry about the adapter

If you're planning on using it for hunting then I don't think it makes a lot of difference which silencer you use as if you hit your mark the sound of "lead on head" by far exceeds the muzzle report, if its a case of keeping neighbours happy that's a different matter :)

The HW mod sets the benchmark IMO. The standard AA jobbies are shite in comparison to the discerning lug hole. This Qtec jobby of theirs is supposed to be quite good though.

I have had huggets, Twinks, HW's and all pretty much as good as each other. I have a full Hugget mod/shroud on my HW100 which is quite good, but they are very expensive.

My Favorite of them all is my Huub shroud on my R10. Damned near perfect in sound moderation and looks!

Apologies for going on a bit

The Weihrauch silencer I have on my S410 is very quiet; It is noticeably quieter than the AA silencer and running it on an adapter isn't a big deal.

Having said that, as Geordie said, the AA Q-tec's are meant to be very good but I've not used one to compare.

Cheers,

James :)

Speak to Matt Winser, get him to make you one. He did one for my prosport, absolutly brilliant bit of kit! Only charged 50 quid too, which is not much difference to whats currently on the market.
