stock finish (walnut)

i got my new s410 carbine the other day, would you oil or wax the walnut stock or leave well alone.i would prefer it a little darker.

I waxed mine with a quality beeswax & natural oils furniture polish which gave it a soft sheen and just a touch darker. If you want a darker gloss finish use boiled linseed oil, or tung oil for a matt finish. There are various branded BLO-based preparations for walnut stocks, including some containing stains, but I've not used any of them myself.
Personally, I wouldn't use anything containing a varnish, such as Danish oil, or non-drying oils.
