mk 4 hills pump/leak

Thu May 28, 2020 8:54 am

as my midland diving surface air cylinders are both over 5 years old, they both need testing & refilling, i have a HILLS MK 4 stirrup pump as a back up !!! it's only been used a handful of time's, there's a problem with it !!! when i get to about 180BAR the pump leaks on the bleed screw, it's as tight as i can get it, with out getting plier's on it which i wouldn't want to do.

IS THERE AN EASY FIX FOR THIS.

Have a look on bagnall and kirkwood they have a break down schematic, it looks like an o ring has failed and they sell full service kits for20 odd quid.

Make sure the bleed screw has no dings and has a nice point. Polish it up and remove any wear marks. You might get it in a drill chuck which would make it a doddle.
