Here we go again

Hi all
I know this subject has been well covered in the past, but I have just bought a TDR in .22 flavour and was just wondering how much work is involved in converting it to.177 or is it even possible. I know people will say I should have bought a .177 instead, but this was such a good price, I bought it regardless and then thought about the conversion.
I will be quite happy to use it as .22 if I don't actually convert it.
Kevin

Probably better to sell it to me, and then try to find one in .177 (cheap of course) Rog

Hi Rog
I doubt very much if I will ever find 1 as cheap as this again. Thats why the conversion could be a good project for me, rather than buy 1 in .177

Sounds good to me Kev, get on to Julian, and he can tot up the cost of a conversion, shouldn't be all that much, I have one in .177 but I'm keeping it :D

Can't help you on this one but you may be interested in researching the changes in TDR spec as this may influence your decision. The original TDR was in .22 only I believe, due to the anticipated poor air efficiency in .177 with a short barrel. When AA brought out the .177 the barrel length was increased, and on the .22 as well, I think. So you might have to fit a longer barrel which, to my mind, defeats the object. I can't remember any of the details; I've posted something before, or l'd have to look at the early reviews to get the specs.

Thought I would have a look at cost of converting .22 to .177 and seems to be about £184.44 but if you buy from Julian ( airarmsspares ) you do get 10% off, worth it? Not over sure myself, but as you say, if you got it for not a lot of money. Might be worth doing, and of course, you get to learn a lot about the rifle, that itself has to be worth quite a bit

Hi Roger
I have been away for a couple of weeks but I have not even started the conversion yet, all I have done is clean and polish the hammer rail. The gun in shooting like a dream. Pellet on pellet at 25 yards running at exactly 11ft/lb. I am loath to tamper with it at the moment, just enjoying it. I must say this is the 1st tdr I have owned but I wish I had bought 1 years ago.
I have a chronic back problem and this gun is definitely better for me than my S410 classic. It just seems to "fit" perfectly
I will update you if and when I do start a conversion.
Cheers
Kevin

As you purchased it at a good price I would have thought a nice profit could be had to purchase the one you really want
