Air Arms Q Tech silencer

Bought a second hand s400f .177 with a q tech silencer on it.
Any tips on how to strip it down for a clean please guys, the end cap isn't coming off with just using my hands.
Put the silencer on my Mpr to test and it shoots way high and to the left of a 20 yard target.
Might be clipping.
Rich

Does anybody know how to strip one of these? Tried heat, lots of and the end cap still won't budge 🤔

You don't say how big the POI shift is but, more important, are the groups okay? Bear in mind the Q-tec has asymmetric baffle holes so the excess air will not act evenly on the pellet.

Sod that then, I'll stick to my hw100 👍

im back on air rifles after a long break. my 1st precharge in many years is a 2nd hand s200 it came with the ten shot mag. however I chose to buy a qtec for it, great at sound reduction but really disappointed with my groups. at a measured 45 meters its an inch and a half with perhaps 3 clipping each other out of the ten shots, without the moderator fitted 10 shots give me a ragged 3/4 inch hole. my reason for going for 45mtr is to teach myself hold under/over, from what is the typical distance I usually spot some quarry. I want to be 100% happy with my poi before I go out,so how can I tighten the group with the qtec fitted. I chose my username because im allways expecting just a bit more.it should meet or exceed what it says on the tin in my opinion. any suggestions :?:

Use a hw100 mod, it's generally a .22 mod and allows plenty of room for a .177 pellet to pass through. To be honest the hw100 sets the benchmark for all other manufacturers to follow.
Sell the q-tech as it's not getting along with your barrel at all by sounds of it. Even a standard moderator can be made to be just as quiet as a hw100 one by using hair curlers and scouring pads. I know this because that's what I've done to one of my moderators and now sits on my s400f .177 instead of the q-tech.

Richie - is your home brewed mod as quiet as the Qtech? I'm pretty impressed with mine for quietness (although now you've got me worried about clipping!!)

I have a Weihrauch mod on my other rifle....but it's nowhere near as quiet.

(noitce you're from C D (from the other forum) howsthadein?) ;)

It's as quiet as the hw100, not sure is it's quieter than the q-tech as I didn't have it on long enough to test and take decibel readings since it was clipping.
Now lives redundant unless I can undo it to enlarge the porting.
What do you mean the other forum c d ?
