190 bar fill

Just an ask, was talking to somebody who does a bit of competition 12ftlb target shooting, they said that they fill their S400 to 190bar, 1st shot 777fps I asked them what they reckoned it would be doing at about 150bar i.e. Would it still be on the safe side of 12ftlb or over, what do people on here reckon?

Mine went up 30 fps from 190 bar to its max at 145 bar. Not all S400's are created equal, but as our American friends say, you do the math!

My S400 will max out at 785 if set to start at 765fps at 190bar. It's currently set to start at 760 and max out at below 780 which gives me a nice 170-120bar sweet spot running above 770fps.

I would have thought a 777fps start would max out over 795, maybe over 800fps with 8.44gr, so it would be right up to the limit and definitely well over 12ft lb with JSB heavies.

All depends on the ventrui screw, set from aa the gun within the optimum sweetspot pressure say 130bar will do a few shots at around 12.05 ---12.15 ftlbs with jsb heavys. If aa aren't worried why should we be?

That’s a bit of a sweeping statement that AirArms are not bothered.
Nobody wants to see a rifle going over.
It may happen now and again but we don’t endorse falling foul of the law.
