I have spoken to John and apologised as I hadn’t actually sent a pm....I typed it and it didn’t go

With forums it’s very hard to judge the tone of the person sending it. and if it can be taken both ways then one should take it as the light hearted way. Please use smileys etc as this will help getting your tone across.
John is a nice guy and isn’t looking for trouble so please no jumping on the bandwagon.
