Iv always wondered why air arms dont put a thread on the end of they barrels, similar to the wiehrach design? Seems crazy we still have to use a grub screw on the silences for the s410's, i would prefer a threaded one much more precise.

The barrel diameter isn't big enough for the standard 1/2" UNF thread.

Give air arms a ring and ask them why.

I don't see anything wrong with my reply  As you say above" for open discussion and advice and tips and things ". My advice was too give air arms a ring and ask.
And my tip is ...try not too be so prickly.

The whole concept of having figure of eight bracket was for the use of a light barrel. You can’t have a light barrel and meat on the side walls to take a thread.
If one wants to fit a threaded silencer then there are adapters that slide on and shrub screw keeps them in place.
I have used them as they allow the silencer to be easily unscrewed.

Some times forums can only second guess answers.
Ebowswan suggested asking AirArms which I thought was a nice suggestion.
AirArms and their staff are always answering random questions.
